Job Description

Seeking a  reliable tax accounting, tax reporting and tax compliance process in the relevant jurisdiction or geographical area. This includes supporting the (Regional) Tax Manager in managing tax audits, tax planning and tax queries for operating entities in the region and to promote Fugro Group tax compliance.

Your Contribution - Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the preparation of federal, and state/provincial US and Canadian tax provision with outside firm
  • Prepare a reconciliation of all income tax accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Report US and Canada tax provision in Hyperion Tax Provision to headquarters in the Netherlands.
  • Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted federal and foreign tax legislation, regulations, and court cases to ensure that adequate procedures are in place to minimize and accurately report the company's income taxes.
  • Manage, review and coordinate the preparation of federal, international, state/provincial US and Canadian corporate tax returns and estimated tax payments with outside firm.
  • Review and reconcile tax depreciation calculations prepared in-house.
  • Prepare quarterly tax deprecation roll forwards.
  • Coordinate US and Canadian R&D tax credit study with outside firm.
  • Respond to notices from tax authorities.
  • Assist in local and international tax planning.
  • Assist in IRS, CRA, US State Income Tax, Canadian Provincial audits.
  • In alignment with Regional Tax manage relations with various counterparts, such as Tax authorities, external consultants, external auditors.
  • Initiate and drive improvement projects, setting up new control / measurement systems to manage overall tax compliance.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the Tax accounting and Tax reporting process and alignment with other Finance close processes.
  • Working with the Regional Tax Manager on specific tax related projects in the relevant geographical area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field of study.
  • CPA with 6+ years of taxation experience.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and Tax and other reporting requirements, including interim and annual statutory reporting. Willingness to expand to other fields of taxation.
  • Ability to work in a multinational environment, proper social skills and persuasiveness. Hands-on mentality and team player.
  • Analyze and maintain detailed overview on tax figures and transactions throughout the jurisdiction and/or relevant geographical area that can have an effect on the tax figures of the Group.
