• Facilitate the development of a multi-skilled, responsive, and effective workforce.
  • Develop and maintain training material and course work relevant to the latest technological advancements in positioning and surveying. 
  • Provide instruction or schedule subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide advanced training.
  • Maintain an up-to-date, accurate and comprehensive technical competency tracking program of division personnel and contractors to insure proper placement on offshore projects. 
  • Assign courses and maintain Fugro Academy technical training records for field staff.
  • Direct SMEs to create, revise, review and coordinate all offshore operation procedures, verifying they are valid and current for field use.  
  • Identify and track the training needs of the department.  Identify and assign resources to ensure efficient, effective and up-to-date training.
  • Assist both in-house and contracted software and hardware testing to insure compatibility with existing systems and procedures.  Coordinate Field Staff, Chief Surveyor and Development Division staff necessary to complete field verification testing.
  • Set clear training targets and assist in controlling training costs.
  • Able and willing to travel and spend periods of time offshore performing on-the-jobtraining for field staff.
  • Meet with field staff and Service Lines on a regular basis gathering feedback ontraining and operations.
  • Work with Field Staff, Operations and Service Lines to coordinate training tomatch project requirements.
  • Monitor and stay up to date on Offshore training requirements, including Fugro OSD work instructions and best offshore practices.
  • Assist in special projects as assigned.


Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required):


  • Prefer Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline and 5 years experience in performance of tasks/duties in field of responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in personnel management and training a must
  • Prior experience in preparing bids and proposals desirable.
  • A high level of computer literacy is essential, and familiarity with high technology electronic equipment would be a distinct advantage
